Two of our G.D.S.O. members are now in Los Angeles getting prepared to represent our country.

Athlete Catherine Partlow is competing in Athletics and Donna Edwards is a coach for Rhythmic Gymnastics.

This is Catherine's fourth World Games.  Her first was in Dublin, Ireland in 2003, Shanghai, China in 2007 and Athens Greece in 2011. She placed 4th and 6th in Ireland, 1st in the 200m and 2nd in the 400m in China and 1st in the 100m and 1st in the 200m in Greece. She will be running the 100m and 200m and the 4x400m relay in L. A.

This is Donna Edwards’ first World Games as a coach.   She was the ‘Team Ontario’ RG Head Coach for the 2014 National Summer Games in Vancouver.  She is looking forward to coaching at the World Games in Los Angeles.

There will be 6,500 athletes and 2,000 coaches participating from 165 countries!  Wow, how Special Olympics has grown since the first international games in 1968 in Chicago.

The games will run July 25 - August 2, 2015.

GO Canada (and Catherine & Donna) GO!
