Volunteers Needed - SOO softball provincial qualifier in Ajax on August 27/28

The event will be held at the 'Audley Fields' (Audley Rd. and Taunton Rd.) in Ajax on Saturday, AUGUST 27th (teams arriving at 8 AMish, Opening Ceremonies at 8:30 AM and games starting at 9 AM) AND on Sunday, AUGUST 28th (until 3 PM).

All volunteers will be provided with water, lunch and snacks.

*** Let her know your name, and a contact email address and (cell preferably) phone number ... AND the date and times re: shifts of your availability.  And what volunteer role you would prefer.  If you are a registered SOO volunteer please advise your SOO number.

Volunteers need to be 16 years of age unless accompanied by a parent.

The volunteer roles and shift times are listed below:

Saturday, AUG. 27th

 Set Up (6 AM – 9 AM) – 12 Volunteers needed


 Parking Lot attendants (7:30 AM – 9 AM) – 2 Volunteers needed to direct traffic – team buses etc. and to point folks north to the slo-pitch diamonds.

 Note: ‘Tim Horton’s’ coffee and food items will be obtained for the AM (12 set up, 2 Parking Lot, 2 Registration and 7 Team Ambassador) volunteers.


Registration and results (7:30 AM – 10 PM/2 shifts 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 2:30 – 10 PM ) – 4 Volunteers needed (working with the ‘Chief Results Officer’).  

 

Team Ambassadors (7:30 AM – 10 PM/2 shifts 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 2:30 – 10 PM – 14 Volunteers needed (1 for each of the following community softball programs – Brampton, Etobicoke, Central Toronto, Scarborough, Mississauga, Thunder Bay and Greater Durham).  Can look after water and ice in the bins behind home plate.  


 Scorekeepers (1 PM – 10 PM/2 shifts 1:30 PM to 6 PM and 5:30 – 10 PM) –  8 Volunteers needed (1 at each of the four diamonds for the tbd (2 PM4 PM6 PM and 8 PM) games. TWO games each.  


 FOOD

Lunch  - set up (10:30 AM), BBQ Cooking & Serving (1 – 2 PM) and cleanup - 12 Volunteers needed

Supper - set up (4 PM), Liaise with ‘Mary Brown’s’ and assist with Serving (5 – 6 PMish) and cleanup - 6 Volunteers needed

 Tear Down/Pack Up – hopefully all present at the end can pitch in.
